To Salman Khan,
I saw Sultan, in search of inspiration but without much expectations, for better or worse. Within first 15 minutes into the movie I was disappointed that this looked based more on a love story than anything else. Yet I stayed positive and kept searching for moments to be awestruck, to be inspired.
Firstly, Mr. Salman Khan it’s been so long that you have been acting now, yet your character lacked the Haryanvi conviction. With every dialogue I felt - 'Hey, that’s salman’..dude you’re supposed to make us believe every minute that this is Sultan not Salman! If it weren’t for your supporting actors who played your childhood friend and your better half in the movie, it would have been unwatchable!! Please learn something from them, alas I doubt you ever will.
Secondly, it’s a movie about wrestling, I guess I would learn more about wrestling even in a kick boxing class which even teach wrestling! :( If it weren’t for the latter half of the movie I had forgotten what was the main subject. I was hoping to see more technique which I only saw towards the end in bits and pieces and not at the Commonwealth games that you apparently won. I don’t wana draw comparisons here, but even Karate Kid displayed more believable, artistic punches.
I don’t care what you speak about in public. But please do justice to the work that you are involved with, the fans who adorn you. Grow up, give us something more and out of the ordinary to look forward to.
From,
A bored movie goer.. won’t give up, will wait for Nawaz’s and Aamir’s next!!
