It’s better to be interested instead of interesting

I would like to start with a famous quote by James “I went out to find a friend and could find one there. So I went out to be a friend , and friends were every where”. This quote speaks to this basic idea of leadership that focus on be interested, not interesting . Most of the time we focus on being interesting, it’s about us. We want people to see us as great and yet one of the best way, we can do that to win people, to make it about them because when we do, we grow in their eyes.

The lesson I learned from applying the lesson of Being Interested is that you are welcome at any time and loved being around. I go to my friends and roommates and asked questions about themselves. The enthusiasm which I saw in them while doing this was kind of new to me. The lesson is very helpful in professional as well as in social life. Its worth is much more to being interesting.
