A Love Poem

Our love has outgrown
poems and sweet nothings.
Ripened and aged
into wine that flows
from your heart to mine.

I’m addicted; intoxicated
by the monotony
rendered in knowing -
knowing what’s next,
knowing how to feel
and yet reveling in it;

the way I know how
you’ll take me home
through the same road
every time, and yet
loving the journey;

the simple algorithm
embedded in our souls
that relive the same moment,
the mundane things
that still rub off sparks.

The complacency sewed
into knowing us...
