Is Ted tv series same as Family Guy?
Seth MacFarlane’s 2012 Ted was an instant hit, Ted 2… errr not so much. But we can all agree on that Seth is an out of box thinking creative mind mixed with a pinch of dark, rude, sexual humor that may or may not suit all audiences. Some found Ted to be tedious and cheap but for some it was a nice stoner movie.
Ted tv series was 2023’s latest innovation by Seth. Here, we go back to the story of John Bennet and Ted when they were kids. So, this is like a prequel to Ted movie sort of like Young Sheldon to Big bang theory. The origin story of Ted narrated by Patrick Stewart is known by every viewer of this series. The magical wish of a little boy and the teddy bear coming to life. If you remember the first movie well shocker the mom and dad has changed in the Ted tv series. Now it is played by Alanna Ubach and Scott Grimes with a more hilarious twist.
The tv series is an opening to how this one magical teddy bear went from a cute little children’s toy to a weed-smoking, cussing teddy bear that has many social issues. Though he was a famous hit at the beginning, like every star in Hollywood, he came crashing down to reality and to a middle-class suburban home where he was forced to attend school with John Bennet.
Each episode of the series is a new story, so anyone can watch an episode from the middle and not get confused as to what the hell is going on (of course, unless you have never seen Ted before). If you are a fan of Seth Macfarlane and a fan of Family Guy, you might hear Peter Griffin all throughout the series. And the tv series itself is sort of like watching family guy live action. Bennet's house and surroundings are even familiar to the Griffin house in Family Guy. The opening of some episodes or cuts to the house is also similar to the Family Guy style with a similar joyful opening music.
Overall, we can see Seth’s humor all throughout the tv series, his absurd yet successful methods of creating funny moments and the involvement of clever lines are the hint that Seth has still got it in him. If you think about movies like Million Ways To Die In The West we can see the same humor that is seen in Ted, American Dad or Family guy and we can deduce that the future movies or series by him will follow the same structure, humor and clever dialogues.
