I was very impressed by your article on your experiences at the GOP. I am a straight lady that is an advocate to the LGBTQ community. I am a republician, most of my friends are not. Especially my transgender friends, which is a large amount.
I am dissapointed that the party is not more receptive, I actually am suprized. I don’t know why I thought their point of view had changed more, but I did, I also have been trying to urge people to vote for Donald.
In my oppinion I feel that Donald and his team are not going to be anti LGBTQ, as Donald says he does not have time to worry about that, and does not care how anyone leads their personal life. In 2012 he was working (and owned) the Miss America Association. There was a trans woman from Canada and she had interest in being in the contest, and he said that was fine and would follow the laws in Canada and the U.S. In fact he said he would make it a blanket rule that trans women that had their paperwork in order were welcome to compete. He does not descriminate on gay or trans ect.
I feel that this one cause will hurt the Republican party much more than anyone realizes. But I pray that voters will overlook this, as they compare Hillary to Donald, most will see that Hillary is a trainwreck. No one is perfect, but Hillary is not even in reality, she is in a very dangerous place…
In closing, I am now following you on twitter. I do go to several events in the city, and am a member of several groups in the Northern Virginia Area. I feel that one day we will probably meet, please keep up your positive work, I know that in the coming years the GOP views will change, I will be praying that it is sooner rather than later.
