Unfortunately, this is true. One of my close friends is an employment attorney, and says in confidence that she would never advise a friend to file a sexual harassment lawsuit. It is soul-destroying, she says, and opens up and up-ends every detail of your life — in addition to marking you as an “employee who sues.” It’s not fair, but a decision to sue is a highly personal one — one for which we can’t really judge others as outsiders.
