You mentioned the problem of having students come home and tell Mom how to cook. I live in the USA. In the area that I live, our school made home economics mandatory. That was fine by me, but, the program was sad at best. It was all boxed foods. My sons were raised in a home with daily home cooked meals. I know how to cook, and have even done so professionally. My boys resisted the methods of the school cooking, and always asked why they couldn’t start with real ingredients. The course will have the content that the community wants. Sometimes that is not good.
