Observing the current global scenario, depletion of natural resources, poverty, environmental crisis and further other ecological, economical and social crisis, Ranvir Shah understands the need for sustainable growth and development. Sustainable development emphasizes that the needs of the individuals should be fulfilled without compromising the ability of the future generation to meet their needs. It means that the resources should be used thoughtfully and conserving the natural resources. Though, the concept of Sustainable Development Goals have been recognized in recent years roughly in 2015 after the United Nations efforts to achieve a sustainable development, the concept of Sustainable Development Goal has gradually evolved throughout the years, and that is when seventeen SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) were put forth.
Sustainable Development Goal includes no poverty, decent work and economic growth, zero hunger, quality education, Life above, below and on the earth so on, these goals are to be achieved by 2030 as per the decision made in the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme). Ranvir Shah promotes these Sustainable Development Goals by highlighting various measures to increase sustainability, for instance promotion of Ecotourism. Ecotourism is a sustainable form of tourism that allows the tourist to enjoy the mother earth and cause less damage to the ecological system. Thus, in turn helps to achieve the sustainable development goal of environmental protection and resource conservation.
While keeping in mind sustainable development goal of decent work and economic growth, Ranvir Shah, as managing director of Indian Agro Exports (IAE), as worked with 500 farmers to provide a sustainable environment for the farmer community and have effectively given them with the benefits that the community deserves.

He has worked over the years and has been trustee to various organizations like the Rambhaba Trust, established in 1991, the trust works to provide scholarships to cover school fees and medical expenses of the children of deprived and those who belong to the strata of below poverty line, many scholarships have been provided and the number of scholarships provided are increasing till date. Thus, thriving and achieving the goal of quality education for one and all. There are different organizations and each organization has different purpose, for example Ashray trust, an NGO for prevention of child sexual abuse. Ranvir Shah is the main trustee of the organization named Citizens Run Trust, this was started in order to extend financial support to those NGO’s who work for the welfare of destitute, socially, economically as well as physically and mentally retarded and disadvantaged children and the aged men and women.
Ranvir Shah through the formation of this organization accomplished one of the many goals of sustainable development of good health and well-being of every individual. Sustainable development goal stresses on good health and well-being and so does the other organization started by Ranvir Shah. Pratham Hospice Trust was started in 2006 for the free treatment of ill-patients. It provided medical help to those of a comparatively lower economic background who could not afford medical treatment. It also provides palliative care which indicates that patients with acute as well as chronic diseases are given medical treatment; palliative care means the taking care of the people suffering from chronic diseases. Each business company headed by Ranvir Shah be it PS Apparels or IAE (India Agro Export) have a deep responsibility to ethics both social and economical and carry out ecologically sensitive business practices. Ranvir Shah’s constant efforts towards achieving sustained development have resulted into the companies being organized as global leader in sustainability.
