What is PNR Status
PNR stands for Passenger Name Record, and it is a 10 digit number that is recorded in the database of the Computer Reservation System (CSR). This number is generated after having taken the passenger’s details like name, age, boarding station, destination station, berth preference, journey class, etc. The PNR number is mandatorily required to travel in any IRCTC train.
When train tickets are booked, the PNR number is issued. This PNR number has a PNR status which tells you whether your train ticket is confirmed or not.
Types of PNR Status
PNR status are of various types. Here are what each of them mean:
CNF: Confirmed
CAN: Cancelled
RAC: Reservation Against Cancellation
WL: Waitlist
RLWL: Remote Location Waiting List
PQWL: Pooled Quota Waiting List
RSWL: Road-Side Wait List
REL: Released
NOSB: No Seat or Berth
NR: No Room
GNWL: General Waiting List
TQWL: Tatkal Waiting List

You can check your PNR status on the official website of IRCTC. Apart from this, there are multiple platforms that offer you this service online. You can find the current status of your PNR number and also have a fair idea of the chances of having your tickets confirmed.
