Brought back vague memories of my first years at school in the late 50’s. It was an old building with creaky wood floors and huge windows you could look out and daydream. In grade 2 they tore it down and built a ‘modern’ one in the lot behind the original. It had no character and some newfangled tiny windows (the thinking was kids could focus on work if they weren’t daydreaming out the windows). There are no pictures of that old school. I have searched city and library archives for years.
