Future of personal data storage

Think well before posting on Facebook. Do you really want to share with everyone, from your boss to your third series teacher? But we do not have the same level of control before visiting the company’s website or looking for someone from high school.

Every action you do on Facebook — tanned, searches, friends, keywords of your messages — gives Facebook more information about you, even in the physical place where you are entering. Not surprisingly, but according to the New York Times, Facebook also uses facial recognition software to collect biometric user data. The site then uses all this data to make assumptions — sometimes true, sometimes wrong — who you are and what is important to you. And then they show a million (or more) ads based on these assumptions.

The recent Cambridge Analytica scandal with Facebook data made many people perceive for the first time that Facebook not only uses information to overload their news feed. This allows several types of companies to have access to their data. Therefore, it is very important that you know exactly what Facebook knows about you and then take steps to protect as much information as possible.

Datum Offers a Solution

First, Datum creates a single platform for the purchase and sale of location data. Users only need to download the application from which they can control all location data, including the people they want to share and how much they want in return. The same applies to companies — do you have a fleet of vehicles and want to optimize the route? Why do not you use the date to encrypt data and protect your company?

Second, Datum opens new opportunities for the use of data that go beyond commercialization for commercial purposes. With current methods, companies obtain information about the movements of their clients, but these data are rarely available to other organizations. For the first time, government agencies and research organizations will have access to large-scale location data, which allows for better policy formulation.

Third, Datum significantly improves the quality and scope of the available data. By rewarding individuals and facilitating the sale of their data, Datum will provide companies and information organizations with much more than currently. By enabling the acquisition of large-scale location data, Datum will create many new opportunities, including marketing, urban planning and research.

The DAT is a utility symbol that is a standard type of ERC20 and based on Ethereum. This is the currency of the network of Datum and is used to perform all the activities of the network. More specifically, it is used to make payments to enter the network, become a storage node, buy data and also store data. With Datum network, data creators now have absolute control over their own data and can decide who they share with and how they can monetize accurately. This will certainly increase the income that they can generate with the data they produce, which is quite logical if you ask me.
