The Imposter Syndrome

I remember the first time I heard of the Imposter Syndrome. It was an essay written on the last page of Time Magazine. Years after reading it, I was talking with my boss, a coder who seemed to have it all figured out. I forget how the subject came up but when I mentioned the article, he gave me a strange look and took something out of his wallet and unfolded it and showed me…the article! he said it was the only thing he’d ever cut out and carried around with him, it resonated so deeply. And there I was, SURE he had it all figured out, and if I only could emulate him more, I wouldn’t feel like such a fake.
