Journalism from a Political Science Student

Maybe we journalists are too polite, but no one has accused us of that! I encourage you to be opened with your opinions and views; don’t suppress them. Like you, I believe the point of being in a university is to challenge ideas, question assumptions, push the boundaries of our understanding. You may find that when you open up, you inspire classmates to do the same.

It is true that you may have more background in content that others; in fact, many successful journalists develop content areas like political science. However, we should all be critical thinkers.

I look forward to hearing more of your views — both in class and in your blog.
