That’s all very well, but the problem lies in defining ‘hate speech’. Look at European countries that have introduced hate speech laws and you’ll see how easily they can be interpreted to mean anything anyone with an axe to grind wants them to mean. Believe me, you’re better off with your absolute rights to free speech in the US, be it ever so imperfect.
