How to find adventure — Everywhere!

Got talking to some writer friends today about living adventurous lives. Are we somehow magnetic, attracting adventure? Are we thrill seekers, throwing ourselves into situations that bring adventure? Or are we just eager to embrace every experience as an adventure? I think there’s adventure everywhere — you just have to be open to it!
When I was in college, I had a friend who loved to go anywhere with me. “You always have adventures!” She told me. Whether it was getting lost in Scranton at night or visiting my parents in upstate New York, she enjoyed it thoroughly.
The definition of adventure is “an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity.” It seems like people tend to define it as “fun and happy”. I don’t see that in the official definition, although I do try to get as much fun and happiness out of my misadventures as possible. For instance, getting lost in Scranton. A little scary, that. Especially when the guys hanging around at the gas station seemed interested in a slightly longer acquaintance than “just getting directions” would take.
I do have adventures all the time. I get lost in the woods, meet new people, create be-you-ti-ful art (like the pictured kindness rock) drive different roads, and find fascinating things like the shadow of a tree during an eclipse.
Bill Watterson once had Calvin comment to Hobbes, “There’s treasure everywhere.” I take it one step further; There’s adventure everywhere!
