Build a Game of Mole Mash With MIT App Inventor

Build games with animated characters using image sprites and a canvas.

In this session, we built an animated game of “mole mash” with MIT App Inventor. The player scores points by stabbing a wily mole with the finger. But the mole’s reflexes improve with each encounter. In the process, we learned HOW TO:

• Use image sprites on a canvas in an animated game
• Orchestrate action with a clock and timer
• Create a custom code block by writing a procedure.

Participants are well on their way to building animated games like Flappy Bird or Temple Run.
