…estaurant. Nothing in an office environment has taught me about hard work as the food industry has. The people there are the most industrious, spirited people I’ve ever met. People who work 12-hour days, often 6 days a week, doing the same repetitive, mechanical — really, surgical — work endlessly, on and on. Like Tony said, it’s the immigrants who make the restaurant ship run. Restaurant work may not be the dirtiest, most dangerous or difficult, but it’s hard, I tell ya. Everyone should try working in one for at least a week during a rush. That’ll teach you somethin’ about work ethic. It’ll be a humbling experience.
