The train whistled as it neared the Rocky Mountains. I woke up to see a picturesque image outside the window. The never ending stretch of Rocky Mountains was as beautiful as it could get. My phone camera certainly did not do justice. But, this is what I saw in the morning. (Image from Wikipedia)

Rocky Mountains

Denver is at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and incidentally the Mountain Time Zone starts from Denver. The Denver Union station is a confluence of modern and historic architecture. The building is a historic one but the terminals are renovated to suit the modern taste.

I took a day’s pass for the public transportation. I checked into my AirBnB house and set out to explore the city. I visited the Colorado State Capitol and roamed around the Capitol Hill.

Next to the Capitol Hill is the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. I didn’t know about this. TripAdvisor advised me to see this. It was quite beautiful.

I, then, walked to the Denver Botanic Gardens. It was a ticketed entry, I chose not to enter.

I trailed along the Cherry Creek. Here are some of the pics from the Cherry Creek.

Tomorrow, I am traveling to Glenwood Springs where I am spending the weekend before heading to Salt Lake City.
