Feelings are more likely to be out in the open in a big family, because to get what you want, you have to say it and be forceful. This is an important life skill. They are more assertive and expressive.
Finally, my last reason is just because it’s fun. It’s fun to fight over the t.v. remote with my sisters, or to go to their basketball games. It’s fun to sprint across the room to get the last slice of pizza, or argue over whose shirt it is. The holidays are more festive, and when they’re gone the house seems big and empty. In conclusion, larger families are better in terms of social situations and important life skills. At the end of the day, it’s what makes the parents more comfortable, but I’d like to urge any future parents to not dismiss the idea of a big family because of money and income.
