Arch and NixOS are worst Linux distros for laptops, hardware support is lacking. While FreeBSD isn’t Linux.

I’ve been using Linux Mint since 2009, and it has high hardware compatibility. In fact, it autodetected my hardware whereas in Windows I had to download drivers from hardware’s website.

You bad experience with Linux is fundamentally skewed, since you chose the worst of the worsts distros for the goal you want to use your laptop for — personal computing. The Distros you chose are catered for very advanced users, not for switchers.
