Our “frog” on our to-do-list

So there’s an old saying that says,“If the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning is to eat a live frog, then nothing worse can happen for the rest of the day!” We all know about our “frog” on our to-do-list and we all are really good at avoiding it and perform other (unimportant) tasks on our to-do-list which sometimes drain us for energy. So eat that frog every morning and this will give you a boost of energy for the rest of the day.

The idea is to do put each task into one of four categories:

  1. Things you don’t want to do, and actually, don’t need to do.
  2. Things you don’t want to do, but actually, need to do.
  3. Things you want to do and actually need to do.
  4. Things you want to do, but actually don’t need to do.

Your frogs are: Things you don’t want to do, but actually, need to do. This way you’ve done the ‘worst’ thing already and are happier to do the other tasks by comparison. The order for the four types of tasks would go 2, 3, 4, and then 1 — give it a try and feel the boost of energy.
