Hello Danny,

Thanks for responding. I was being facetious with the ‘just joking’ ending.

But I agree with the tenor and concern of much of what you say. But, this isn’t really about how awful human beings are as a species.

Yet again, the ‘conversation’ has seems to come down to some bloke, some where, deciding he knows the root cause of some injustice (like gender pay issues*) and here’s some vague unsubstantiated reason why.

Why don’t I tell you, you’re a rapist because you’re a man and you are biologically predisposed to do it (believe me I can find cases within behavioural ecology that I could use as ‘facts’ to draw a poorly drawn and very non-scientific conclusion. But it’d start a conversation, wouldn’t it. Women have done just the above BTW and had a backlash, justifiably so. But that backlash is just like the backlash we are seeing here for telling us we are not good at programming software code because of our ‘biology’.

Conversation takes many forms. It can be heated. This is heated conversation, but I’ve fund men get very upset when women get angry — maybe that’s a biological response on the part of men? Maybe men can’t communicate. Maybe men should not be allowed to write on social media forums?

And my wish, is that men and women work together, equally, in harmony. But looks like I will never get that wish.

*please dont try and tell me they don’t exist, I’ve experienced them all of my life in male dominated industries
