She’ll be alright.

.

I took an auto ride this morning and the driver was really offended by a girl in a short dress at a crossing. She was with a male friend, looked happy and was laughing out loud. That did not impress the auto driver one bit. He went on about how women these days dress, smoke, drink, love and live carefree but fail to realise that they are only inviting trouble.

Yes, there are some “bad men” out there. Yes, she might cross paths with one of them. Why, the guy she was with could be one. He will probably break her heart. He will probably hurt her. But I am assured she can handle it. In fact, I am pretty sure she is breaking hearts (and probably bones too) of these “bad men”.

Before parting I asked the auto driver if he had a daughter. With a wide grin on his face he said, “I don’t, Thank God”. “Thank God, you don’t”, I thought.
