Open Houses Are Your Best Friend

And mine too.

It’s one thing to see a floor plan or pictures.

And Houzz is definitely a great resource.

But there’s noting like seeing something in real life.

What size ceilings do you prefer? Width of hallway? How does it feel when your kitchen has one set of dimensions vs another?

The best way to find out is to tour a lot of open houses. It’s been incredibly helpful to get a sense of things we like (and don’t). When we see something good, we take pictures from a variety of angles.

We bring a tape measure with us. I’ve been using the Bosch DLR130K as it’s not as intrusive.

I’ve also found the agent hosting the open house to be helpful as well. I ask for permission, explain what we’re doing & why. They’re also helpful if you want to know they type of flooring & so on.
