How to set up a MetaMask wallet

The first thing you’ll want to do is get the extension from the chrome web store.

Click on “Add to Chrome”, then click on “Add extension”.

After you install the extension, this website will pop up automatically. Click on “Get started”. The next page will ask you if you want to share your data with them or not. You can choose whatever you’re comfortable with, your decision won’t affect this tutorial.

Next, you’ll be prompted to this page asking if you’re new to MetaMask. Click the button that says “Create a wallet”.

Then, you’ll be asked to create a password.

Right after you create your password, you’ll be prompted to watch a video about securing your wallet. I strongly recommend watching it.

You can choose whether you want to store your Secret Recovery Phrase now or not. For the sake of brevity, we’ll be clicking the button the“Remind me later”.

And boom! Just like that, we’ve effectively set up a MetaMask wallet!
