Did you somehow forget that a child is a human and not just a tax form? That each year, especially the initial years and the last years before 18 you’re spending on average some $14,000 on said child (PER CHILD)? Do you happen to have that additional expense to deduct on your tax forms?

If the answer is no, I wouldn’t complain about additional couple of thousands of dollars off in taxes parents get to claim each year.
