Completely agree and add that for true Level 3/4 self driving capability, multiple detection systems should be engaged at all times . At the very basic level, “missing a white trailer” in bright light would not have been possible if radar/lidar systems that do not rely just on visual cues had been engaged.

The question is whether this was a part of the much tauted Tesla Self Drive or if it failed. Either way, the buck stops with you, Tesla.
