A damaged kidney or a failed kidney means that people may face serious trouble while discharging waste and unwanted water from the blood. A dialysis helps people with kidney disease in discharging this waste more easily than with a damaged kidney. A good kidney dialysis center is required since the people with such diseases need frequent visits to a good place which can assist them with the process. You must also know the kind of dialysis that is going in for your patient so you can actually judge if the kidney dialysis center you are considering is worth it or not.

What is Dialysis
Dialysis is the the process that mimics the natural function of the kidney. Although dialysis can never fully replace all the functions of a kidney, it can mimic 80 to 90 percent of the actions a kidney performs. Frequent dialysis is needed to keep the hazardous waste from reaching dangerous levels in a patient’s blood.

Here are the three main approaches to dialysis:

Continuous Renal Replacement
Dialysis can be intermittent or continuous, depending upon the kind of kidney disease a person has. Continuous dialysis can last up to 24 hours and your dialysis center must have a high temperature at the ICU to successfully perform this process. Make sure that you go or take your patient to one of the best available facilities since extensive care is needed for longer duration and you need expert opinion.

Peritoneal dialysis
This is a process that works through diffusion. In this, a sterile dialysate solution is run through the abdominal cavity that surrounds the intestine. This allows the water to penetrate the membrane and then takes out the water along with it. The solution is highly concentrated with glucose that creates the pressure which pushes wastes from blood to the dialysate. Although people do not prefer this dialysis due to the longer duration it takes. And it is just about as effective as themodialysis. However, people who cannot be taken to the dialysis center usually opt for this process since it allows the patient to have the freedom of getting this treatment done at home.

Intermittent hemodialysis
Hemodialysisis a process where an artificial kidney is used to take out the waste from the body of the patient. It is considered the opposite if continuous treatment since it takes multiple sittings, all at some interval depending upon the gravity of your situation. Unlike the above two processes, intermittent hemodialysistakes only 4–6 hours to complete and is usually done at the hospital only. The duration may be longer and shorter depending upon the patient’s physical condition. The treatment is sophisticated and must be carried out under expert supervision only.

The patient, and especially their friends and families must be aware about the kind of dialysis that is recommended for their oved ones. Only by fully knowing about the procedure and the prerequisite, you can have optimum benefit of a dialysis. Being prepared also allows you to choose the best possible kidney treatment center for your loved ones as the sophisticated procedure needs expert supervision and precision. At Salokaya, we make sure that the dialysis experience is nothing but pleasant for the patient, and our well trained staff leaves no stone unturned to make everyone feel at home.
