Along with greeting the visitors and assisting them in meeting the right person, a front office clerk also has to look after certain day-to-day activities. I have stated a few examples below to give you a clear idea.

Well, the title may vary from company to company, but responsibilities are essentially the same.

  • Ensuring that the indoors and outdoors are clean
  • Answering general inquiries through phone or email
  • Maintaining the physical records of attendance
  • Arranging and storing supplies of stationery
  • Arranging and storing supplies of cleaning products
  • Arranging and storing supplies of cleaning tools
  • Keeping an eye on footage captured by CCTV
  • Making sure that clean drinking water is available
  • Calling electrician, plumber, etc. whenever needed
  • Making travel and accommodation arrangements
  • Accepting letters and couriers on behalf of the staff
  • Maintaining records of regular and irregular visitors

A person employed as a front office clerk should ensure that no unauthorized person enters the premises. He or she should stay alert to act quickly in times of emergency, such as the ringing of fire alarm, an employee falling sick, or receiving threats from an unknown person.

You can search for entry level front office clerk jobs in usa by using the Ragns employment portal. My experience with this portal has been great. I feel it will be great for you too! Just remember that you should possess decent communication and computer operating skills to work as a front office clerk in the USA.
