As some of you will know, we at Saol, have been studying the delivery of extra care for the retired and elderly and how that delivery might be complemented.
It’s been a fascinating journey which has challenged many of our initial thoughts and perceptions on the topic of extra care as part of the solution.
We quickly realised that the answer was not to be found in the care sector alone but also by asking prospective clients what their requirements are, harnessing the knowledge of the care sector as part of the solution.
It’s a wide discussion involving stakeholders including government, the care sector and communities, and consideration of sustainable economics, building practice, planning policy, long term political objectives, and even simple human motivations, just to name a few. …
