Hey Brittany C.

I relocated to Paris last December and being in this city is a big challenge for me.

I experienced moments of loneliness at their worse.
I have always used to be surrounded by a lot of people and have a lot of friends of all kind, but here, for the first time, I REALLY struggled to make friends.

I have tried Facebook groups, friends of friends, I went to exchange languages events, yoga classes. But none of them lead to a real friendship, one which I would like to see often or keep in touch even if I am no longer here.

I think, maybe I am wrong, my problem is with the mentality here.
There are some things I can’t accept and live with, and when I see something like this is a person, I would back off right away.

It makes it very hard to make friends.

I know I could try harder by going to the right event or maybe by going to hang out in the right places.

But as a girl, if I am starting a conversation with a guy, most of them will take it to the wrong place. They don't understand I am looking for friendship only.

The girls, the French girls, it is just too much of an attitude. I have tried to ask some girls, but they gave me a look of WTF. I am not sure, but I do think, someone who never relocates will not understand how fast you can get lonely and how hard it can be to make real friends in a new place.

After I poured out my heart here, I could say that there is a thing which helped me before in those kinds of situations.
It called Couch Surfing. I am sure you heard about this App.

You can send a message to someone after you read about him, so you know if there is a base to connect.

The only minus in using this app, It is easier to find people who cross by more than to find locals. Not in every place of course. But worth trying :)

Thank you so much for sharing this article with the world.
I am sure a lot of us will found value in it.
