In Utero

Day 0–183

she laid the dirt,
turning it over
and over
and again.
exposing one side to the elements,
while the other side
breathed the darkness.
there was no telling what nourished her soil.
undoubtedly the sun and the rains each played their part.
But it was the breath of darkness,
that kept her most often in wonder.
