In Utero

Day 0–95

It sits on my heart.
This ripple of sadness.
Micro quakes
and aftershocks
of stone throws and losses.
I wake in the darkness
while my shadow sleeps.
No arms or defences
to temper its rise.
I meet it with the elements
of wind and water.
Breath and tears
churn through memories
of what was
and of what may be.
