Break Out of a Downward Spiral

One of the things I’ve talked about with coaching clients is the importance of wins. It becomes psychologically damaging to put up one L after another after another. I know from firsthand experience. When I was working for agencies, I was always a Steady Eddie, consistent producer. I didn’t have huge swings: one month awful, one month great, and so on. Nope. I met or exceeded goals every quarter. However, when I went into business for myself the first time around, all of that went straight to hell. I worked and worked but felt like I was getting nowhere. And it was brutal on my mind, body, and spirit. It feels like circling the drain; you get on a losing streak and it seems like a terrible downward spiral. As though the universe itself is tossing you down and you’re powerless to stop it. But the good news is: you are NOT powerless to stop it.

I’ve talked before about how Dan Lok says that probably 70 to 80% of business issues are mindset issues in disguise and I agree. Quite frankly, you can lose a battle before you ever step on the field if you have decided you’re going to lose. So how do we begin? What are some initial things we can do if we’re embroiled in a sales slump, a personal slide, or a general rut?

  • Remember who TF you are!

You are not your business. You are also not every thought you think. If you have been pummeling yourself…
