Warkah untuk Tuhan was written as part of Suaraku bukan dosamu (my voice is not your sin) — Objectif’s Women In Film And Photography: Remedy For Rage exhibition (2019)

kepada yang Maha Esa / kepada Al-Khaliq

yang mencipta adam dan Hawa
tanah dan tulang rusuk

satu merantai, satu yang dirantai

aku menulis, aku hanya mampu menulis
ini cara aku melawan
tidak mampu berbicara kata-kata, mulut bagai dirantai

tidak mampu/ atau tidak boleh

kita dilahirkan umpama iblis, bagai mahkluk yang membawa dosa

kepada lelaki-lelaki
yang fikir mereka Nabi
yang mahu menjadi Tuhan

badanmu dosa /seluruh kewujudan kau dosa/jangan menggoda

wahai cik abang tercinta, lidah setajam pisau

haruskah aku buka selendang ini dikepalaku

yang menyembunyikan rambut aku. rambut yang
menakutkan kau. balut

nah, guna selendang ini. tutup mulutmu

tutup matamu, nescaya kau tidak akan lihat dosa lagi

aku sujud, mengucap nawaitu

bahu terasa berat

seperti memikul rasa sakit ibuku

Ibu. Hawa. Wanita.

syurga di tapak kakimu tetapi kau dipanggil
penghuni neraka
neraka kerana mulutmu, kerana kau tidak takut hidup

tapi,

kalau neraka tiada patriaki,
bukankah itu syurga?

Act IV — Adaptation

When I was six, my grandfather brought me to the beach. I remember the waves being strong and a huge wave crashed over tiny me and it felt like I was being pulled into the sea.

I felt his hands on my shoulders as if pulling me away. Up till today, I still remember what he said to me.

Jaga-jaga, laut tengah marah. Be careful, the sea is angry.

Angry. Furious. Every wave crashed upon the shore…

Suaraku Bukan Dosamu

Suaraku bukan dosamu (my voice is not your sin) — Objectif's Women In Film And Photography: Remedy For Rage exhibition (2019)

salam. welcome

peace be upon you. we seek not the ignorant [al-Qasas 28:55]

[one: him or Him?]

siapa nama kamu? what do you live for? who do you love?/ sometimes, we confuse submission for love. sayang, do you think of him? or Him? / but why can’t it be Her? Or Them? / shhh, that’s blasphemy

[two: TV killed the TV3 Malay star ]

hari ini kau datang riang / tersenyum buatku senang
kau hias dirimu / membuat hati bertambah saying
tapi wajahmu semalam muram /mengapa dewi mengapa
mungkinkah aku bersalah/cubalah dewi katakan

the protagonist is often fair and covers…
