Tableau Tutorial — How to create a Bar in Bar Chart

The dataset being used below is the Superstore Dataset available on Tableau Community.

Steps to create a Bar in Bar Chart —

• Drag Categorical Variable to Rows Shelf

• Select the Year variable and create calculated fields to separate for different years

If YEAR([Year Variable]) = Choose Year

THEN ([Numerical Variable])

END

• Drag 1st Year Variable to the Column Shelf

• Drag 2nd Year Variable into the Axis

• Drag Measure Names into the Colour Shelf

• Go to Analysis Menu at the top and turn off Stack Marks

• Drag Measure Names to Size

• Reorder the Measure Name and remove headers

• Resize the bars
