Hot off the press …. photo’s from downtown Durban after the Springbok celebration parade through the City today

Going to the below link says it all …. the latest episode in the Maverick Life video series ‘On the Edge of Change, Episode Four: Sea-level rise, extreme weather and coastal change’

Durbanites — we can do more to minimise our footprint in this City and plan ahead for an uncertain future. Come join us on www.oneplanet.com to create a sustainability action plan for your organisation, school or business, and be the change you want to see. Together we are stronger … as our rugby team has shown us.

And it being the weekend again soon, food is going to feature highly in the enjoyment of our time off ….. but please be mindful. The below posted by Eden School earlier today about what palm oil is doing to our world … it is in everything these days — I cannot find biscuits without it, nor crisps for that matter — only one brand in each category perhaps. Chances are if you buy local, it will be lekker, hopefully home made in support of a local business and likely without palm oil therefore. And don’t forget, we are what we eat …. my favourite adage is ‘never eat what your grandmother wouldn’t recognise’. Don’t get me started on packaging now ….
