What is Kindness? Kindness is basically the quality of being friendly, generous and considerate. “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see”- Mark Twain.

Kindness is the universal language that is comprehended beyond the boundaries. Each and every individual understands and speaks this language. An act of kindness never goes futile. If you are kind to someone it will reflect in your and his behavior. Being kind to others instills a positive feeling and makes this world a better place to live.

Kindness is taught by every religion. Be it Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism or Islam or any other religion to name, all teach to express kindness towards others. The term is not only restricted to human implementation. But cruelty against all the living creatures is a sin. Even the mute animals wave their tail as a return gesture to kindness shown to them. Similar response is shown by plants. They grow large and bear fruits as a response to the kind behavior of their care taker. Nature has own ways of expressing gratitude and kindness. When you give your best to nature, nature always give you reward as a result of it.

My random acts of kindness are that give me a lot of satisfaction and peace:

Last days, I visited Kohinoor side there one child tried to sold the coloring books to me for sake of money by which he can eat easily. When I refused to buy books he said I am hungry. I asked him what he want to eat? He said “Nan Tikki” from nearby stall. I go there with him and buy him the food that he want to eat. In response he gave me a very cute smile and said thank you. This thing satisfied me internally and make me happy as well.

My roommate laptop suddenly stop working and she is in great trouble due to her work as she is a PhD student. So I gave her my laptop for 1 day to complete her work easily.

My khala is so sick from many days , I called her and talk to her very long to make her happy and comfortable and listen her problems carefully and tried to give solutions as well.

I collect all the unused clothes from my cupboard and give them to the poor darzan family who lived in university. She thank me for this and I was like peacefully flying in the air type feelings.

In hostel I spread smiles. When ever I go down to take water in my bottle I see the girls with smile and hi.

Showing kindness towards others gives a feeling of joy and mirth to the recipient. “What goes around comes around”, So just be polite and kind in your behavior and the same will come back to you. Being kind to self is equally important as being kind to others. Don’t be harsh to yourself and give space to the trivial mistakes in life. As, we only learn by committing mistakes. Learn from the experience and move ahead in the positive direction.
