CTF — LightCyber’s Online Simulated Attack Challenge July 21st 2016

Attackers can enter a network in a variety of ways, using tools that are open sourced and available. Often these attacks go unnoticed for months and the infiltrated network can experience data exfiltration or worse. Network protections are put into place to protect entry and mitigate responses. This game is not about any of this…. Its about BEING the attacker!

LightCyber’s C.A.T.S is a simulated attack challenge that lets you be the attacker. The goal of the game is to locate a file inside a specified database. The challenge is based on an isolated corporate network environment LightCyber has created that is representative of a small healthcare company. The network features fabricated medical records of 10,000 patients with Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

The object for each challenger is to learn about network, find the data and tweet the last record from the database on the fabricated network. The challenge will be open for 4 hours, although actual breaches tend to occur over many weeks and months.

The winners get a hoodie! If you would like to play please register here.

Thank you and happy hunting!
