Before you dive headfirst into the recipe, I’ll highlight a few of its swoon-worthy ingredients. With the highest antioxidant content of any other green tea, matcha is quite literally worthy of your attention. Matcha contains high levels of the amino acid L-theanine known for its ability to produce a calm yet alert mental focus. Let’s put it this way, if L-theanine was a person, they would have a yin-yang tattoo, and totally pull it off. Matcha is a powdered tea that lends itself to sweet pairings and has an affinity for all things creamy. That’s where maca comes in! This savvy, root vegetable powder has a nutty, malty and yes, creamy flavor. When I set these two powders up, I knew it would be a match made in granola heaven.

What’s miso got to do with it?

Miso acts as a welcome third wheel in this recipe with its tummy-friendly probiotics & enzymes. It rounds out the flavor of the granola by pulling in a subtle savoriness.
