I’m confused by this article… the intention here seems to be urging Uber executives to reach out to tap their investors’ endless source of knowledge to drive improvement in the company, criticizing Uber for turning only to a “team of insiders” such as Eric Holder and Arianna Huffington… and yet investors in Uber would very much be deemed “insiders,” would they not? Is there any argument being made here that Uber needs to look elsewhere (ie. neutral 3rd party) for help? Maybe it’s in here somewhere, but it feels overshadowed by the final plea:

”We remain at the ready to continue to help if the company is indeed serious about a fundamental analysis and potential overhaul of every aspect of its policies, practices, complaint systems, training, upward communication systems, sentiment analysis, and commitment from the top. Both of us have helped countless tech companies over the years as investors and advisors. There’s a wealth of knowledge and experience to be tapped.”

I’m interested to know what action is being taken by these investors beyond a plea to be used as a resource. Any effort to speak out in support of dismantling this oppressive culture is, of course, appreciated and better than staying silent, perhaps, but I would like to better understand the intent for tangible action beyond a public plea.
