Danville Police Lieutenant retiring after nearly 50 years of service

After 47 years of service in the Danville Police Department, Lt. Tom White has decided to retire. Lt. White was not only involved in different departments over his years of service, he was Danville’s first School Resource Officer. The Danville Police Department released a statement thanking Lt. Tom White for his exception dedication to the community.

Lynchburg teen convicted in city park shooting

A 17 year old was convicted of unlawful wounding on January 23 in what appears to be a drug deal gone wrong. Although there was no physical evidence that linked Shytrez Tyliek Robey to the April 14, 2016 shootings, one of the victims did identify Robey as the shooter. A judge has set the sentencing date for March 22.

Lynchburg Parks and Rec accepting applications for Art Expo

Registration is still open for the Art Expo happening April 1, through the Lynchburg Parks and Rec and the Seven Hills Art Club. To submit work, there is a fee based on the size of your exhibit and a form that must be submitted by March 15. The Expo will be located in the Miller center and will happen from noon to 5 pm.
