Do you think the cast size had anything to do with its failure to make all the characters feel distinct? I was thinking about Age of Ultron and a problem might have been that to juggle all the characters they had to reduce them to specific qualities or even just joke-machines. Some of the characters had some development, but it felt off and wonky. I’m not blaming run-time/cast-size for the flaws of both movie, but with cast utilization/execution time may be a limiting factor to how effective it can be.
