I’m sorry you felt that way.

The point of the article was about how we need to pay attention to what we eat, where and how it is grown. Environmental and sustainability concerns primarily. I didn’t focus on ethics of cattle because that was not my purpose or interest in writing it. It is certainly a part of the problem and issue at hand, but I didn’t go for that angle — I spoke more on non-meat sustainability which I don’t think is touched on as much.

The piece wasn’t about feeling good about what we eat but being aware of what we eat.

Sure, snob may have meant that originally, but I was using the more colloquial connotation of the word. Technical can definitions can be thrown around but they are not of great value. Definitions are malleable. Certainly by bourgeois you are not referring to the old French middle class or city dwellers. Time gives words new meanings.

But anyway, I thank you for reading my work and taking the time to respond to it. The size of the response to it has been amazing. Great discussions from it.
