Although I’d hate to admit, a huge portion of my time is now spent on gaming. Recently, I heard about the controversy around the games Palworld and Pokemon and it piqued my interest. I watched the game trailer, saw countless memes (mostly rather cruel ones involving butchery and cannibalism), and decided I should give it a try. I was hooked on the first day — I literally could not put down the game. With so many tasks to complete — catching different pals, breeding, farming, cooking, battling and building — I could now understand why this was the hype.

In the vast landscape of gaming, creature-collection games have carved out a unique niche, captivating players with the thrill of capturing and training fantastical creatures. While both Pokemon and Palworld share similarities in concept, their executions and underlying themes differ in some ways. We’ll delve into the fundamental differences between these two captivating games.

  • Pokemon: Originating in 1996 (Pokemon Green/Red), Pokemon is all about capturing, training, and battling cute and majestic creatures known as Pokemon. Players journey through various regions, capturing Pokemons, battling other trainers, while striving to become a Pokemon champion.
