As someone who writes satire and is pretty terrified of an unexpected online mob, I appreciate the sentiment here. However, the two examples you mentioned are people who pretty clearly didn’t deserve it. But what about people who do? It probably goes against your general argument to say that there are people who deserve it and people who don’t (I know, I know, by what standards). But I was hoping you’d mention the Curt Schilling incident, where he shamed two Twitter users for what they were saying about his daughter. I have to admit that even though I generally agree with you, I was more than a little glad about the action Carl took.
