Faculty Death

Universities awarded “Outstanding Professor” dies today at the young age of 58. Elizabeth Billson passed away after battling with cancer for almost ten years. She was the Education professor at a local university and had been teaching there for 36 years. Billson is estimated to have taught around 10,000 future teachers during her entire career. Billson was awarded the university’s “outstanding Professor” award just last year. This is a tragic death and our thoughts and condolences are with Elizabeth’s friends and family as well as the University’s faculty and students.


A head-on collision happened on I-59 undergoing repairs last night. Two trucks were involved in a head-on collision last night causing a traffic jam and roadblock on both ways for about 45 minutes. Both drivers have been cited for speeding and reckless driving. The damage included an oil slick as a result from both trucks spilling oil and refrigerated contents being thawed and losing around $10,000 worth of goods. Both drivers were said to have braked however they still ended up colliding resulting in the crash. No one was harmed in the crash.
