Mental Health Checklist

- Drink water. Keep a large glass or water bottle (extra points if it’s reusable) near you at all times during the evening and try to finish it before you refill it the next night.
- You can also use the same water whenever you take your medication and/or multivitamin, since you’ll always have it nearby!
- Practice mindful self care. Cleanse your face twice a day as a part of your morning and evening routines. Use a refreshing face mask every other day.
- Read books before bed instead of using the computer to minimize screen time.
- Keep your room clean. Make your bed each morning before you do anything else.
- Go on walks to get some light exercise and enjoy the outdoors. Mornings and dusk are perfect times for me.
- Acknowledge your tasks of the day and keep track of when you complete them. Always remember: a little bit of progress each day is a good thing.
- Cooking your own meals gives you a task with a tasty reward when you’re finished!
- Keep your plate colorful — fresh vegetables really help! The more colors, the better.
- Keep track of your mood throughout the day, and see how it changes from day to day. I like to use the Daylio app to do this — it’s awesome because I can also record my activities and see how that may affect my mood!
