Mental Health Checklist

  1. Drink water. Keep a large glass or water bottle (extra points if it’s reusable) near you at all times during the evening and try to finish it before you refill it the next night.
  2. You can also use the same water whenever you take your medication and/or multivitamin, since you’ll always have it nearby!
  3. Practice mindful self care. Cleanse your face twice a day as a part of your morning and evening routines. Use a refreshing face mask every other day.
  4. Read books before bed instead of using the computer to minimize screen time.
  5. Keep your room clean. Make your bed each morning before you do anything else.
  6. Go on walks to get some light exercise and enjoy the outdoors. Mornings and dusk are perfect times for me.
  7. Acknowledge your tasks of the day and keep track of when you complete them. Always remember: a little bit of progress each day is a good thing.
  8. Cooking your own meals gives you a task with a tasty reward when you’re finished!
  9. Keep your plate colorful — fresh vegetables really help! The more colors, the better.
  10. Keep track of your mood throughout the day, and see how it changes from day to day. I like to use the Daylio app to do this — it’s awesome because I can also record my activities and see how that may affect my mood!
