I wholeheartedly agree with what you say. Of course things change according to a shift in interest or need and that is something to explore and embrace. But I can’t help thinking there is a slight dumbing down. I hate to think that the wonderful world of imagination is being closed down in favour of being spoon fed dross.

I do believe there is a place for quick and simple stuff as I am certain that lots of people enjoy reading those reality themed things that paper magazines are crammed full with. But I hate the idea that it’s at the expense of genuine short story fiction.

I love Medium and the fact that there are so many amazing publications to push fiction writers to produce wonderful works. Long may it continue!
