Babies are a gift of love and as parents we all wish to capture as many moments as possible from their birth to freeze the beautiful little angel they are and all the special moments of their childhood. While previously it was mostly family members clicking their activities, but with the sprout of candid photography these days, parents tend to hire professional photographers or kids photography studios to seize the candid moments in the frame, and the latest trend, of course, is to deck up your baby with the cutest props possible. To add up to that, a particular theme is chosen or a set of costumes that give a fairy tale touch to the frame.

In this article we have tried to list eight such costumes which you can refer to for your kid as well.

Here’s the list :

  1. The Super Hero / Heroine Costume: The most popular, and on demand, is the super hero/heroine theme. In case you weren’t aware, costumes of Batman, Superman, Cat woman, Captain America, Spiderman, Hulk, Wonder woman etc are available for the infants too. Some of them are specially made for photoshoots. You may also decorate sets in the kids photography studios according to the costume you choose to give a complete look to the entire picture. Proper lights and creative props will bring out best of this vibrant theme, and as your child grows up later, this will also be a tinge of nostalgia to their time.
  2. Costumes of Cartoon Characters: Another very popular costume trend is of the cartoon characters. Kids love to see themselves as their favorite cartoon character and are filled up with glee the moment you get them the costume. All you have to do is to notice which cartoon character they enjoy watching the most and get those costumes for them.Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Donald duck, Daffy Duck, Tom and Jerry, Pokémon, Doremon and the list continues! Cartoon characters’ costumes are very easy to find, and even if not, you can always stitch one up improvising your creativity. For example, you can stitch up a famous line which is related to that particular cartoon character, or can also add up accessories with it. Donald duck may come with a spectacle and book, Pokémon with beblets, power puff girls with a city as a backdrop or Dexter with his laboratory. Cartoon characters will always make them happy and you in turn will get the broadest smile!
  3. Insects and Animals: Dressing your little one as an elephant or a dolphin or may be as a bee or lion may seem a little off-beat but it brings out the cutest version when they give that lovely adorable smile before the lens. With the soft, skin friendly, furry delights the costume gets a whole new level of an endearing look so much so that even you may fall for the animal looking at your baby. You may customize the color and make it look even more cute. Pink-colored lion for your little princess, bumblebee, pooh bear, chubby bunny outfit, purple hippo costume, peacock, bat, tiger, and panda will always add up to the sweetness.
  4. Pop Culture Costumes: These costumes include characters from fantasy novels, from series, music, and movies. These pop culture icon references will be sheer piece of creativity and something new to try out. You may either pick something like a Harry Potter theme, Elsa from frozen or Star Wars, Edward scissor hands, Alex from A clockwork Orange, Little Lady, or classic vocalists like Elvis Presley, Michel Jackson etc. Another very commonly taken up theme is Barbie. There are a lot many dresses and accessories you can use with a Barbie dress for your little princess. Pop culture itself is a huge area to delve in and therefore will give you ample scope to explore and choose what suits the best on your child the most.
  5. Cross Gender: Gender reversal is one of the most funny things to try. Girls dressed as boys and vice versa are sometimes the cutest thing to see. You can also choose dresses of older men and women to add colors to the old age. Along with this you can also make your little man dressing up as a nurse, or your little girl dressing up as an astronaut, thus breaking the ideas stereotypically related to each other. The swipe will always be fun!
  6. Chick-Sauve: Major fashion goals are given by the kids whereas some of us, adults fail to carry them. There are certain dresses which are best carried by the kids. This is perhaps because of the carefree attitude endowed in them which helps them to get away with any kind of trendy look.
  7. Fairy tales: This perhaps is the most classic of all the options. Fairy tales offer a great number of choices and characters from where you can chose the costume of your kids. This is more applicable for girls. For example, Snow White, Cinderella, beauty and the beast, Rapunzel, and the list is endless. There are these typical fairy tale costumes which will make your day once your kid wears it!
  8. Color theme: Last but never the least comes the color theme. You can pick shades of a particular color and get a costume with interesting props or you may also mix and match the colors to bring out the best for the picture.
